Building on the existing robust video capture and analysis software developed by Actis Media, Recon Elect extends functionality to allow:

 Pre and Post event recording
 Audio dub in real time
 Robust audio and video encryption
 Predefined event length or manual control
 Onscreen event statistics
 Remote or local information access
 Storage and/or transmission of triggered video sequence and/or images

Using the powerful phoenix engine, Recon Elect delivers efficient and robust user triggered event capture ability. As the user triggers events, data can be produced in the form of data files, picture files and video footage. This data is then transferred in real time or by means of batch transfer for automated import into the Recap Data Manager. The collected information can then be reviewed and acted upon by any designated user of relevant authority.

The user using the keyboard or a keypad performs initiation of capture. Any other requested device to be used as an initiator can be introduced with bespoke development. The user has the choice of capturing for a fixed period or recording for an undetermined amount of time. Multiple recording schemes can be offered to the user to initiate automated cataloguing and operation.

Recon Elect is ideally suited to use another technology developed by Actis Media, Pre-event recording. This optional mechanism allows the user to effectively record an event retrospectively that has already happened. For example, if a situation being viewed looks as if it may require recording but no actual event has taken place, the user does not have to record anything and waste storage space and valuable time if the situation being viewed does not develop. Instead, the user can wait until and actual event occurs and then choose to record, safe in the knowledge that the previous x seconds (delineable) will also be recorded. This mechanism is also invaluable when human error causes an event to be noticed after it has begun. Recording from this point will also allow the user to capture the previous time up to the point at which they noticed they should have been recording!

Captured video can be narrated in real time for evidentiary purposes, training purposes or for verbal logging. Uniquely, the system is able to combine audio from either a combination video/audio capture card or by interlacing audio from a standard audio card. This technology allows the use of leading edge video/audio capture cards and also offer support for other capture cards that do not support audio such as specialist cards or legacy systems.

All data is optionally encrypted. Actis Media has implemented a wide range of strong encryption algorithms in its encryption object and all data can be encrypted before it is written to storage media. Strong encryption is vital for data that may be used as evidence in court, is considered commercially sensitive or just required to remain private until it reaches its destination.

All collected data can be automatically channelled to a designated support system or seamlessly imported into the Recap Data Manager. The provided data is stored in an industry standard SQL interfaced database, allowing Recap to present the data to the user in a simple and efficient manner.
